About The Artwork
«Li Beirut» is a pop art painting inspired by the view of Raouché. In this work I wanted to emphasize the contrast between the old Beirut and the modern one. This view of Beirut is seen through a feminine lens. I used the right balance of acrylic painting and collage to accurately portray my idea and vision. I painted this art work in 2019 and never thought that in august 4 2020 a huge and devastating explosion would destroy my hometown Beirut, leaving 300 000 people homeless, and 200 death and 6000 wounded.
